$2,000 SiliconMint STEM scholarship

SiliconMint's bi-annual STEM scholarship is helping talented US and Canada undergraduate and graduate students cover their college tuition and other educational expenses. Every six months the most qualified student with the best-written essay is chosen and awarded $2,000.

About the scholarship

  • There is no application fee
  • There are no field of study restrictions
  • The scholarship is non-needs based
  • One submission per applicant only
  • Each winner is responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes
  • Employees of SiliconMint, their family members or relatives are not eligible to apply

To be eligible for SiliconMint's bi-annual scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Be a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States or Canada
  • Be enrolled in a college or university in the US or Canada as an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Be in good academic standing

How to apply

To be considered for SiliconMint's bi-annual scholarship you must:

Write a 900+ word essay on one of the topics described in the Essay Topics block below.

The essay should have a clear logic and structure, with an introduction and a conclusion that relate to the chosen topic. While there is a 900+ word requirement, there is no limit as to the max amount of words. The essay must be unique, with references mentioned and/or listed accordingly (if applicable).

Save the essay in PDF or DOCX format.

Compile an email message with your name, scholarship deadline, and the chosen essay topic in the subject field.

In the body of your email write a paragraph or two about yourself and why the specific topic was chosen. Provide your full name (along with your parent or guardian name if under 18), college or university you are attending, your field of study, expected graduation date, average GPA, date of birth, contact phone number, email address, social network link (if available), and proof of attendance such as the copy of your school ID.

Attach your previously saved essay.

SiliconMint's scholarship is bi-annual with regular deadlines in June and December of each year. The next deadlines are:
